Vejer de la Frontera, Spain – February 11, 2021 – Richard Vogel (GER) really couldn’t have started off his Sunshine Tour better than he has. He really is the ‘one to watch’ over the following weeks of the Tour and just in this last year 2020, where there were very few competitions held, he has managed to rise in the Longines FEI World Ranking from 1094th place right up to 228th.
On top of being second in the biggest class of the day on Thursday, he also had great success, in the Big Tour B Two-Phase Special Challenge CSI 3*. The German rode Never Walk Alone ( Numero Uno x Mytens XX) to victory in the 1.45m contest, securing the victory in 23.10 seconds.
The Norwegian rider Victoria Gulliksen (NOR) guided Ballenteskin Watch This towards a second-place finish, stopping the final timers in 24.40 seconds.
British rider Matthew Samson (GBR) with the lovely Cristo Beech (Its the Business x Cantero) completed the top three, finishing only four hundredths of a second slower than the latter two.
