Hans Dieter-Dreher & Vestmalle des Cotis Dominant Again in the €170,000 Longines Grand Prix CSI 5*-W

La Coruña, Spain – December 07, 2024 – The A Coruña CSI 5*-W continued with high level of competition on Saturday. Once the Marqués de Riscal Trophy concluded, it was time for the moment that everyone had been waiting for: the first Grand Prix of the weekend, the €170,000 Longines Grand Prix CSI 5*-W.

In front of an enthusiastic crowd, 40 pairs competed in an exciting 1.55m class with a jump-off. Sixteen of the 40 combinations classified to the jump-off.

The jump-off round was exciting, with a contested fight for first place. Finally, it was Hans-Dieter Dreher (GER) who won this prestigious trophy, riding Vestmalle des Cotis in a time of 37.51 seconds. 

Kevin Staut (FRA) & Visconti du Telman

Second place went to French rider Kevin Staut (FRA), with a 37.94 seconds round riding Visconti du Telman.

Iván Serrano Sáez (ESP) & Rain Man

Staut overtook Spain’s rider Iván Serrano Sáez (ESP), who had been leading up to that point. Serrano finally achieved an amazing third place, clocking in at 39.68 seconds with Rain Man.

To close this edition on a high note, the highlight of the weekend: the Longines FEI World Cup Grand Prix Casas Novas Trophy. This class, expected by riders and equestrian supporters promises to be unforgettable. The competition will begin at 5:00 PM, with 1.60m jumps and a jump-off, with the participation of the best riders and horses of the weekend.

Hans-Dieter Dreher was awarded with a Longines watch, presented by Elena Orozco, Brand Manager at Longines Spain, as well as the competition trophy, presented by Flora Pérez on behalf of Casas Novas.
