
Stuttgart, Germany – November 16, 2023 – A highly experienced rider from the region was victorious on Thursday evening at the 37th International Stuttgart Germas Masters Horse Show CSI 5*-W. Competing in the first qualifier for Friday’s Stuttgart German Master CSI 5*-W, the second most important jumping class in the state capital of Baden Württemberg, Hans-Dieter Dreher (GER) came out on top in the saddle on Vestmalle des Cotis, a French bred 14-year-old gelding.
Their time of 58.86 seconds handed them the win in the €28,000 Prize of XXL-Sicherheit. One place down in the Hanns-Martin-Schleyer-Halle was the British rider Harry Charles (GBR) who was only marginally slower when clocking 59.03 seconds with Billabong du Roumois .
Third was Germany’s Philipp Schulze Topphoff (GER), a winner last Saturday in the Grand Prix of Riesenbeck, on the ten-year-old Westphalian mare Carla NRW, timed in 59.07 seconds.
Only the 12 top riders in the class and the second qualifier on Friday (5.30 pm) for the Prize of iWEST will then be in the mix tomorrow evening (10.15 pm) for the Stuttgart German Master CSI 5*-W, a 100,000 euro class with a jump-off which was won in 2022 by the European Championship runner-up on Philipp Weishaupt (GER) on Krokant.
