
Stuttgart, Gemany – November 17, 2023 – In front of 8,000 thrilled spectators on Friday – 3,100 equestrian fans watched two jumping classes earlier in the day – Great Britain’s Harry Charles (GBR) rode his 12-year-old gelding Billabong du Roumois to the win in the Prize of €30,000 iWest Prize CSI 5*-W, the second qualifier for the Stuttgart German Master later on in the evening.
The 24-year-old had already finished second the day before on Thursday and therefore headed the qualifying rankings for the second most important jumping competition at the 37th International Stuttgart German Masters Horse Show with 84 points. He just pipped Hans-Dieter Dreher who amassed 82 points on his 11-year-old Holstein gelding Cous Cous. The German won yesterday’s class and came fourth today.
Charles finished clear in a time of 59.30 seconds, just ahead of Philipp Schulze Topphoff (GER) on Carla NRW, timed in 61.77 seconds and Dutchman Kevin Jochems (NED) atop Flying Jackie in 62.95 seconds.
