Martin Fuchs & The Sinner Master the Course and the Competition in €95,200 Prix Saur CSIO 5* at La Baule

La Baule, France – May 07, 2022 – It was a great Saturday for top sport at the Jumping International de La Baule CSIO 5* and a former number one ranked rider in the world stole the spotlight as the Swiss anthemn was played over the stands and field of the François André stadium. Martin Fuchs (SUI) and The Sinner mastered the course and the competition to win the €95,200 Prix Saur CSIO 5*.

Riding Luigi Baleri’s 2008 bay Oldenburg gelding (Sanvaro x Landgold 3), Fuchs flew to first place in the tiebreaker, just three-tenths of a second faster than the next highest-placed combination.

Mathieu Billot (FRA) & H

After winning the €25,500 Prix Département Loire Atlantique CSIO 5* on Thursday with the same mount and notching a second win in the €25,500 Prix Bouygues Immobilier CSIO 5* on Friday  with Lord de Muze, Mathieu Billot (FRA) came very close to the third victory in the event. The Frenchman teamed up with H (Indoctro x Emilion) for a second place finish, registering no penalties in 36.81 seconds during the decisive phase.

Harrie Smolders (NED) & Uricas vd Kattevennen

The third spot on the podium was claimed by another former number one ranked rider in the world. Harrie Smolders (NED) posted two fault-free performances on Uricas V/D Kattevennen (Uriko x San Patrignano Cassini), timed in 37.24 seconds in the tiebreaker.
