Steve Guerdat & Ulysse des Forets Conquer €25,400 Hubside Grand Prix CSI 2*

Grimaud, France – September 26, 2021 – Steve Guerdat (SUI) was the star of the week at the Hubside Jumping CSI 5* & 2*. It can’t be said that he hadn’t warned his fellow competitors of his great form. A few hours before going on to win the €200,000 Hubside Grand Prix CSI 5*, he had also claimed top honors in the €25,400 Hubside Grand Prix CSI 2*. Piloting the experienced Ulysse des Forets, he was one of the 12 couples to qualify for the jump-off by completing a perfect round.

The Swiss returned aboard the 2008 bay Selle Français mare (Col Canto x Le Tot de Semilly), taking 39.32 seconds to register the winning jump-off performance.

The rest of the podium was 100% French, with Guillaume Roland Billecart (FRA) and Ustica des Luthiers (Kashmir Van Schuttershof x Bleu Blanc Rouge II) securing the second spot on the podium, backed by a clean scorecard while tripping the timers in 39.95 seconds during the tiebreaker.

The third spot on the podium was claimed by Steve’s wife, none other than Fanny Skalli (FRA), who had already been victorious last week in the same class with her fantastic Jonka-A (Cardento 933). This time the duo earned bronze honors in 40.25 seconds.

Ulysse just did a small class on Friday so she’s in great shape,” explained the former World number one. “She jumped well in the first round and having quite a lot of blood the jump-off wasn’t a problem for her. She’s a very experienced mare, she’s already won at the highest level.”
