Laura Renwick & Arkuga Claim Gold Again in €30,000 Jump-off Challenge CSI 4* at Vilamoura

Vilamoura, Quarteira, Faro, Portugal – Same event, same combination on a special Sunday and no surprise winners! Laura Renwick (GBR) and Arkuga closed out their participation in the 2021 Vilamoura Atlantic Tour adding the €30,000 Jump-off Challenge CSI 4* to their long list of victories at the Vilamoura Equestrian Centre the past few years.

After having won the €25,700 Speed Challenge CSI 3*, the Small Grand Prix CSI 3* and another €25,700 Speed Challenge CSI 3* all at the event the past 3 weeks, the Brit and the 10-year-old Anglo-European Sport Horse (AES) gelding (Arko III x Heartbreaker) topped the 1.45m class, advancing to and completing the jump-off without having any penalties attributed to them, securing the victory in 40.52 seconds.

It was not an easy win for Renwick, who saw Julien Gonin (FRA) and Caprice de Guinfard  (Mylord Carthago x Socrate de Chivre) finish right on her heels, only two-hundredths of a second off her mark.

The third spot on the podium was claimed by Brazil as Felipe Ramos Guinato (BRA) aboard Buzz L’Eclair Teamjoy (Conrad x Dollar Dela Pierre), registering a double clear and a final time of 41.19 seconds.
