Vilamoura, Quarteira, Faro, Portugal – February 13, 2021 – After having won the €25,700 Speed Challenge CSI 3* two days before, Laura Renwick (GBR) and Arkuga teamed up for another victory last Saturday, claiming victory in the Small Grand Prix CSI 3* during the third week of the Vilamoura Atlantic Tour at the Vilamoura Equestrian Centre.
Perhaps the winningest duo at the Francisco Moura Arena of the renowned tour, the British rider guided the 2011 Anglo-European Sport Horse (AES) gelding (Arko III x Heartbreaker) flawlessly throughout the 1.40m track over two rounds, completing the jump-off in 32.33 seconds for the victory.
It was a one-two for Great Britain as Lily Attwood (GBR) and Karibou Horta (Landor S x For Pleasure) also registered two penalty-free efforts, earning silver honors in 32.59 seconds.
Finja Bormann (GER) rode Sally 721 (Stanley x For Edition) toward a third-place finish, backed by a clean scorecard and a jump-off time of 34.40 seconds.
