Valkenswaard, The Netherlands – February 18, 2021 – The organizers of the Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) and Global Champions League (GCL) released a statement today announcing that the 2021 calendar has been updated and suffered two important changes.
This is the second time that the 2021 calendar suffer changes as reported in our 2021 LGCT & GCL calendar update article at the end of last month.
The leg in Shanghai went from taking place as the 2nd stop of the tour to the 15th one, taking over for New York as the host of the Finals, although the dates of the event in China is yet to be confirmed. The dates of all other events remain the same.
The sensational 2021 calendar for the Longines Global Champions Tour and Global Champions League (GCL) team series has been updated! The thrilling championship race will travel around 16 events across the globe, with the world’s greatest riders and horses joining the ultimate contest for individual and team glory.
The 2021 season kicks-off in just two weeks time at Al Shaqab in Doha from 4 – 6 March. All the action, including the GCL Round 1 & Round 2 and the LGCT Grand Prix, will be streamed live on GCTV and it’s all to play for as everyone aims to dominate the ranking and win a share of the overall season prize purse of € 25.9 million.
