Valkenswaard, The Netherlands – January 28, 2021 – After announcing the dates for the 2021 Longines Global Champions Tour and Global Champions League (GCL) team series, the organizers of the two championship series have released an update. The most two prestigious championship series were forced to change a date of one of the events for the 2021 calendar.
It turns out that both the LGCT & GCL are events run simultaneously with the Hamburg Derby, to make it simple events held within an event. After not having held the Hamburg Derby last year, the organizers made the wise decision to postpone their event from May 12-16 to August 25-29, hoping that by then they will be able to run the 100th edition with some kind of attendance by the public as a result of vaccination, less number of cases and subsequently milder restrictions in regards to the pandemic.
