Quarteira, Faro, Portugal – November 11, 2020 – Eduardo Alvarez Aznar (ESP) and Rokfeller de Pleville Bois Margot climbed to the top of the podium yesterday during the sixth week of the 2020 Vilamoura Champions Tour at the Vilamoura Equestrian Centre.
Since the feature two-phase class with aggregated penalties had 127 entries and according to FEI rules, it had to be split into two sections, following the California split format. Aznar (ESP) and the 2005 bay Selle Français gelding ( L’Arc de Triomphe x Apache d’Adriers) triumped in Section B of the 1.50m challenge, registering no penalties and a final time of 32.25 seconds to claim the lion’s share of the €25,600 purse.
Vladimir Tuganov (RUS) and Suspens Floreval (Clinton x Damiro B) were the closest ones in Section B, leaving all the poles up right to the end, going through the timers in 32.59 seconds.
Michael G. Duffy (IRL) and Lapuccino 2 rounded out the top three after breaking the timers in 33.10 seconds at the end of the second phase.
