Saugerties, United States โ September 03, 2025 โ The final week of the 2025 Hits Hudson Valley summer season launched top-tier show jumping competition in the Douglas Elliman Grand Prix Stadium on Wednesday. Located in the heart of the Hudson Valley in Saugerties, New York, the summer series has brought the best of the best, with five weeks of FEI international show jumping, elite hunters with several weeks of World Champion Hunter Rider (WCHR) action, and impressive equitation. As the crescendo to a full season, Championship Week boasted a plethora of highlight events, including four days of designated CSI 3* competition and yet another WCHR week for the hunters. International show jumping stars took center stage on Wednesday afternoon as the $31,020 Dapper Horse Jumper Classic CSI 3* crowned the weekโs first winner in Olympian Nayel Nassar (EGY) and Ivory TCS.ย
World-renowned course designer Alan Wade (IRL) constructed his debut course for the week for a field of 35 horse-and-rider combinations. Eight nations had representatives in the starting line up, including Canada, Egypt, Great Britain, Ireland, Israel, Lebanon, Venezuela, and, of course, the home nation of the United States. Riders took on the opening power phase followed by the second half of the course consisting of the speed portion. A majority of the contenders brought their A-game, with the lead changing hands a variety of times over the entirety of the class.
However, as the class crossed the halfway point and the pressure intensified, Nassar made his single performance one to remember, flying to a speedy finish of 35.50 seconds with Ivory TCS, the Evergate Stables 12-year-old Dutch Warmblood (KWPN) mare (Falaise de Muze x Ukato).ย
โI think the whole way around she was fast,โ said Nassar. โSheโs generally a very quick mare, but she hasnโt shown in a little while, so I was going to just see how she felt in there. Sometimes it takes her a day or so to get dialed in, but she was very focused.
โI felt like the jump-off suited her well,โ he continued. โIt had a nice blend of longer gallops, but not absurd flat-outs, combined with a few rollbacks, which sheโs always very good at. I figured Iโd give it a crack, and it worked out pretty well today.โ

It proved to be a good day for the Evergate Stables team in its entirety as Philip McGuane (IRL) piloted My Lady van de Krekel, the Evergate Stablesโ eight-year-old Dutch Warmblood (KWPN) mare (Aganix du Seigneur x Numero Uno), into the runner-up position as the class came to a close with a time of 37.37 seconds.

Samantha Schaefer (USA) rounded out the top three after putting in a clean and clear effort in 37.93 seconds aboard her impeccable partner, Frasier, Bonne Vieโs 15-year-old Dutch Warmblood (KWPN) gelding (Carambole x Padinus).ย
While the partnership is on the more recent side with the two only being together for approximately a year and a half, they have found tremendous success in their time together.
โIvory has been super competitive for us and sheโs just a fighter,โ detailed Nassar. โI feel like I have her on my side and we have a good way of communicating. Sheโs a smaller type with a smaller stride, so you kind of have to adjust your course plan a little bit to suit her, but there hasnโt been one class where she hasnโt come out and tried her all.โ
For Nassar, who says the Evergate Stables team has had a quieter summer than usual, Hits Hudson Valley provides the perfect venue to fine tune the string before a busy winter.ย
โWe stayed a little more local this summer and came out here for a couple weeks in July,โ he added. โThen we did some traveling, and now weโre staying local again. Itโs really nice to have these beautiful shows within a couple hours driving distance from home.โ
Competition heats up on Thursday, September 4, with the $65,000 Welcome CSI 3*, as anticipation builds ahead of Saturdayโs $125,000 Core Specialty Grand Prix CSI 3*. National competition, including the $200,000 ClipMyHorse.TV Hunter Classic Final, will continue through Sunday, September 7, 2025.ย
