Geneva, Switzerland – December 13, 2024 – Marvelous, the appropriate adjective to describe Martin Fuchs (SUI) at the 2024 CHI of Geneva CSI 5* this week. After having won the $110,000 Geneva Trophy CSI 5* last Thursday and the €510,000 IJRC Rolex Top 10 Final CSI 5* on Friday, Fuchs flew to first for the third day in a row, this time in the €80,000 UBS Challenge CSI 5*.
The course, prepared by Gérard Lachat and Grégory Bodo, was technically very demanding. But it seems that Martin can master any course at this 63rd edition of the CHI Geneva, having won every evening since the start of the tournament. To win, they had to prove their speed and rideability on a difficult course with 13 obstacles of 16 fences and three doubles. And this in front of a full house.

Going up against 38 other combinations, the Swiss was supreme with Commissar Pezi in the 1.55m speed challenge, guiding Luigi Baleri’s 2013 dark bay Hanoverian gelding (Commissario x Bockmans Lord Pezi) towards a penalty-free performance in 59.46 seconds.
The stars seem to be particularly favourable to him at the moment. It is amazing how one rider alone – or almost alone – can hog all the limelight. Ahead of Sunday’s Rolex Grand Prix, Martin Fuchs is once again beaming with happiness and confidence. Well done – Chapeau, Martin!

Simon Delestre (FRA) and Dexter Fontenis Z dashed for the cash too, falling just short due to their time of 60.43 seconds, good enough for reserve honors.

To the delight of the home crowd, another Swiss rider finished amongst the top three. Edouard Schmitz (SUI) and Quno were responsible for bronze honors, conquering it 61.43 seconds.
