Geneva, – December 14, 2024 – Certain competitions at CHI Geneva suit the local hero and crowd favourite. And not just him! While Steve Guerdat (SUI) won this one for the fourth time, it was the third win for Venard de Cerisy! After 2008 with Ferrari, Steve Guerdat (SUI) had to wait eleven years to win the famous Coupe de Genève CSI 5* again.

In 2019, with Venard de Cerisy, he took his first victory in this legendary combined test. Then in 2022, and again this afternoon. What consistency in a test that demands technique, agility, concentration and flexibility!

In an eleven-horse jump-off, the Jura rider put all his skills to the test and came out on top. Steve Guerdat (SUI)and ‘Verni’ took a big risk, especially in the second and last vertical, and set a very fast time. They finished almost two seconds ahead of second placed Lorenzo de Luca ((TA) and Curcuma Il Palazzetto, who were in very good form this weekend.

The only rider to really trouble Steve Guerdat was Kevin Staut (FRA) on Visconti du Telman, who started right behind the Olympic silver medallist but missed the double combination and had to settle for eighth place.
Darragh Kenny (IRL) and Eddy Blue completed the podium of the 2024 Coupe de Genève.
