The Austrian rider was the only one to pass the 1’90 metres without penalties. The Six Bars class brought the curtain down on the first day of the 2023 IFEMA Madrid Horse Week CSI 5*-W with a full house and a great atmosphere. Eight pairs, most of them with a lot of experience in this kind of events, started the first course, made up of two vertical finals, the last one at a height of 1’60 m.ย

Five groups finished without fault, passing to the first tie-breaker, with a vertical at 1’70 metres. All five again finished without fault, moving on to the next tie-break, with a final vertical of 1’80 m.

In this tie-break, the course consisted only of the second line of four verticals. Max Kรผhner (AUT) with Eic Cooley Jump The Q, Marcus Ehning (GER) with DPS Revere and Duarte Seabra (POR) with Fernhill Balou Beau were the only ones to qualify for the next jump-off.

The last vertical was climbed to a height of 1’90 metres, although only two riders would attempt it, as Marcus Ehning‘s (GER) had been reached on the previous round and the German rider preferred not to take any risks.

Max Kรผhner (AUT) with the son of “Pacino” made zero, while Duarte Seabra with his Irish horse could not follow in the Austrian’s wake, committing a fault.

Josรฉ Vicente de los Mozos, President of the Executive Committee of IFEMA Madrid, gave the trophy to the winner.
