Lyon, France – November 04, 2023 – Sweden’s world no. 1, Henrik von Eckermann (SWE) shone the brightest in the €26,462 Ingelheim Boehringer Prize CSI 5*-W, riding his excellent Selle Français, Dzara Dorchival.

The reigning world champion had certainly not come to Lyon to make up the numbers! Having retired from the Longines Grand Prix with the same horse the previous night, he made up for it on Saturday by riding the fastest clear round amongst the 49 participants, taking first place in this 1.50-meter class against the clock, timed in 60.82 seconds.

Having already finished third in yesterday’s Prix Groupama, Germany’s Kendra Claricia Brinkop (GER) took second place this time, again riding Ma Belle (61”95).

She finished ahead of someone who has made a habit of winning medals, the Dutch rider Maikel van der Vleuten (NED) on Dywis HH (61”99).

“Yesterday, I got one of the lines wrong, which resulted in Dzara making a big mistake. It disturbed her for the rest of the race, so I decided to stop. But, I am really happy with her response today. She jumped really well. Tomorrow, I’ll be competing in the Grand Prix with Iliana,” said the rider of the famous King Edward.
The highest-ranked French rider was Kevin Staut (FRA), who finished fourth with Visconti du Telman (62”16).
