Young Talent Prevails as Johanna Beckmann Takes the CSI Hof Waterkant by Storm!

Pinneberg, Germany – August 03, 2023 – That was to the liking of the North German show jumping fans: Johanna Beckmann (GER), just 19 years old, won the de €30,000 DiVo-Bau Prize CSI 4* on Thursday with the gelding Cheenook – the CSI4* test at Hof Waterkant.

Beckmann got the best of 64 colleagues aboard the 13-year-old bay Westphalian gelding (Carell x Cornet Obolensky) – that’s what the rider, who only competed at the European Championships for Young Riders just a few weeks ago. The tall show jumper, who comes from Brunsbüttel and now lives in Löningen in Lower Saxony, left behind the Swedish Nations Cup rider Douglas Lindelöw (SWE) with Cheldon and no other than the current European Champions André Thieme (GER) with DSP Chakaria, claiming top honors in 60.51 seconds.

André Thieme (GER) with DSP Chakaria (Chacco-Blue x Baloubet du Rouet) were a half second slower than the eventual winners, earning reserve honors while Douglas Lindelöw (SWE) with Cheldon (Chap x Askari) rounded out the top three in 61.21 seconds.
