Riesenbeck, Germany – July 23, 2023 – Sunday got off to a great start at the Longines Global Champions Tour of Riesenbeck CSI 5*, CSI 3* & CSI 2* at the Riesenbeck International and another German rider stole the spotlight. After Katrin Eckermann (GER) and Chao Lee “Kung Fued” the competition in the 3* grand prix, it was Johannes Ehning (GER) and C-Jay‘s to give the local fans what they wanted, topping the €25,000 Kreissparkasse Steinfurt Grand Prix CSI 2*.

Just as the 3* GP the previous day, the course for the 1.45m class was demanding one, a prelude to LGCT Grand Prix of Riesenbeck CSI 5*. Forty combinations lined up for the first round but only four of them managed to advance to the tiebreaker.

In the end, it was Johannes who jumped towards victory aboard the 14-year-old grey Holsteiner gelding (Carthago Z x Contender), doing so in flawless fashion and in 39.21 seconds.
Anna Dryden (USA) and Gipsy Love (Guidam Sohn x L’Esprit) were the only other pair to register a clean scorecard, securing silver honors in 46.95 seconds.
After finishing fourth in the 3* grand prix, Maurice Tebbel (GER) improved with Quasi Top despite having at one pole down in the tiebreaker, rounding out the top three in 39.93 seconds.
