San Miguel de Allende, Mexico – May 06, 2023 – The second and final week of FEI-action at Otomi Club Hípico was highlighted by the running of the MXN $1,170,000 GNP Seguros Grand Prix CSI 2* last Saturday and it was Juan Manuel Luzardo (URU) and Ashes and Snow who were the winners of the 1.45m contest.
Going up against 29 other combinations representing Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Dominican Republic, Mexico and Uruguay, of which four advanced to the jump-off, Luzardo lit up aboard the 13-year-old chestnut Selle Français gelding (Diamant de Semilly x Nobel V) was quick and nimble across the track while still managing to leave all the poles up before crossing the finish line in 38.26 seconds for the win.

A pleasant surprise on the podium, overcoming most of the more experienced riders, Maria Michel (MEX) guided Galvano van de Vlasput (Calvaro F.C. x Latano) impecably too, securing a second-place finish in 38.81 seconds.

After winning the MXN $585,000 Visa Two-Phase Challenge CSI 2* two days earlier, Samuel Parot (CHI) and Cap West (Chacco-Blue x Hors La Loi) were very competitive again but had to settle for second place with their second fault-free performance being timed in 38.91 seconds.

3) Samuel Parot (CHI) & Cap West
