Gorla Minore, Italy – March 12, 2023 – Ruben Romp (NED) and Hanouk V rode triumphantly in the €28,000 Grand Prix of Gorla Minore CSI 2*, presented by Mail Boxes Etc. on Sunday to conclude the second week of the Gorla Spring Tour at the Equieffe Equestrian Centre.
A total of 13 out of the original 67 combinations advanced to the tiebreaker of the 1.45m jump-off challenge but it was Romp who raced past the competition aboard the 11-year-old grey Royal Dutch Sport Horse / Dutch Warmblood mare, completing their winning round in 40.76 seconds.

Despite not having a victory in the contest, the host nation did manage to secure two of the three top spots on the podium. Giulia Martinengo Marquet (ITA) conquered silver honors with Coynor (Canstarko x Toulon), registering no penalties and a final time of 42.07 seconds.

The other Italian to climb onto the podium was Giampiero Garofalo (ITA). He guided Max van Lentz Schrans (Untounched x Thunder van de Zuuthoeve) towards two penalty-free performances too, the decisive one in 42.80 seconds for bronze honors.
