
Bordeaux, France – February 03, 2023 – The first “5*” winner of the 50th anniversary edition of the Jumping International de Bordeaux CSI 5*-W was Irish rider Richard Howley. Howley teamed up with Mansini Ltd, a 14-year-old bay Swedish Warmblood gelding (Caressini L x Marramas) to win the €6,000 Prix BEAM CSI 5*-W
The winning duo claimed top honors by registering a clean round in the 1.40m challenge against the clock, dominating French rider Julien Gonin (FRA) on Estrella de la Batia (Diamant de Semilly x Lando). The top two combinations had opposites times of each other, 61.62 seconds by the winners compared to 62.61 seconds by the second-place finishers.
Pius Schwizer (SUI) and Christina (Cassirado x Cormint) completed the podium backed by a fault-free performance too, securing bronze honors in 63.04 seconds.
