Grimaud, France – October 16, 2022 – There are only a few things that are certain in life and it’s the same when it comes to showjumping. In Julien Epaillard‘s (FRA) case, it can be said that if the “Flying Frenchman” goes clear in a jump-off, he is most likely to win the class. That’s exactly what happened last Sunday as Epaillard teamed up with Donatello d’Auge to win the – €100,000 Hubside Store Grand Prix CSI 4*, presented by Indexia to conclude the 2022 – Hubside Jumping’s Fall Tour Series at Haras des Grillons.

After winning the €51,400 Celside Jump-off Challenge CSI 4* with the same mount two days before, Epaillard put on a show again in the grand finale, with two other brilliant performances on the 2013 bay Selle Français gelding (Jarnac x Hello Pierville). The dynamic duo secured the win in 39.64 seconds during the tiebreaker.

One of the few riders who has beaten Epaillard several times when both go clear in jump-offs, Nicolas Delmotte (FRA) and Citadin du Chatellier gave the eventual winners a run for their money, finishing almost half a second behind (40.01 seconds), a mark that ended up earning them silver honors.

To the delight another oustanding completed the all-French podium. In fact all the top three horses were also Selle Français, a remarkable feat! Philippe Rozier (FRA) rode Le Coultre de Muze (Presley Boy x Vigo d’Arsouilles) conquered the third spot on the podium after completing their second fault-free run in 42.14 seconds.
