Martin Fuchs Ready to Defend Title in the €500,000 Rolex Grand Prix de Dinard CSI 5*

Dinard, France – July 20, 2022 – During the Jumping International de Dinard, Martin Fuchs (SUI), who will celebrate his thirtieth birthday on July 13, will be keen to defend the €500,000  Rolex Grand Prix CSI 5* title he won with Conner Jei (Conner 70) in 2021.

The son of international rider Thomas Fuchs and Renata, Swiss elite champion in 1980, and nephew of Markus Fuchs, Martin quickly followed in the footsteps of his elders. At the age of 18, he won the team gold medal at the 2010 Youth Olympic Games in Singapore with Midnight Mist. Since then, Martin Fuchs has had one success after another. Before entering the very high level of the senior category, the young prodigy had already won nine European medals in the Children, Junior and Young Riders categories.

In 2014, he was crowned Swiss senior champion and won his first 5* Grand Prix in Paris. In 2017, he finished 4th in the World Cup Final in Omaha with his faithful grey Clooney 51, with whom he also took 4th place in the Swiss team at the Nations Cup Final. In 2018, still with Clooney 51, he was crowned vice world champion at the World Equestrian Games in Tryon and in 2019, he won silver at the World Cup Final in Gothenburg, gold at the Euro in Rotterdam and his first Rolex Grand Prix victory at the CHI in Geneva. This new performance helped him to become the world’s top ranked rider in January 2020. In 2021, Martin won the €500,000 Rolex Grand Prix of Dinard CSI 5* with Conner Jei, who joined his stables in November 2020. A few weeks later, the Swiss rider won individual silver and team gold at the European Championships in Riesenbeck with Leone Jei. Martin Fuchs continued his success and won again at the CHI Geneva 2021, the $1,000,000 Rolex Grand Prix of Geneva CSI 5* with Leone Jei.

The 2022 season has started well for the Swiss rider who won the 2022 World Cup Final in Leipzig with Chaplin and The Sinner in April and then won the 152,000 Grand Prix CSIO 5* in St. Gallen with Conner Jei in June.

In 2021, after winning the Rolex Grand Prix of Dinard, Conner Jei’s first major prize at this level, Martin Fuchs said: “Conner is without doubt one of the best horses I have ridden to date.” All the indicators are green for the young Swiss prodigy, Rolex Testimonee since 2018, expected at the Jumping International de Dinard, from the 28th to 31st of July.
