
La Baule, France – May 05, 2022 – The first day of the 2022 edition of the Jumping International de La Baule CSIO 5* concluded with a Germany victory and it was the former number one ranked rider in the world who was responsible for the feat. Thursday qualifier for the Rolex Grand Prix – Ville de La Baule, the €28,000 Prix FFE CSIO 5* was won by the German Daniel Deusser (GER) and Kiana Van Het Herdershof.
The main class of the day featured a total of 57 combinations in the 1.50m challenge run under a format of one round against the clock. In the end, it was Deusser (GER) who dashed for the cash aboard the 2010 bay Belgian Warmblood mare (Toulon x Lys de Darmen), backed by a penalty-free effort in 61 seconds flat.

Just as in the other major class of the day Belgium claimed silver honors. This time, it was Jérôme Guéry (BEL) and Margriet de Mariposa (Nabab de Rêve x Flora de Mariposa) who represented the “Red Devils” on the podium as a result of their fault-free run in 61.39 seconds.

The host nation did not disappoints French spectators completely. To their delight and pleasant suprise, Robin Lesqueren (FRA) rode Dorado de Riverland (Untouchable x Argentinus) towards bronze honors, matching the clean performances of the previous two but in 63.46 seconds.
