Husband & Wife Come Close but Julien Epaillard Prevails in €25,500 Hubside Store Grand Prix CSI 2*

Grimaud, France – May 01, 2022 – Julien Epaillard (FRA) did not disappoint his fans on Sunday at the Hubside Jumping de Grimaud CSI 5* & 2*. Riding Donatello d’Auge, the “Flying Frenchman” was victorious in a battle against husband and wife to win the €25,500 Hubside Store Grand Prix CSI 2*.

Twelve out of a total of 39 combinations who lined up for the feature CSI 2* class advanced to the tiebreaker but it was Epaillard and the 2013 bay Selle Français gelding (Jarnac x Hello Pierville) who prevailed, once again producing a fault-free performance, being timed in 39.29 seconds.

The next two spots on the podium were shared by a husband-and-wife duo. Currently ranked as the 6th best rider in the world, Marlon Módolo Zanotelli (BRA) and Heureuse Nouvelle WH (Cardento x Indoctro) were second, being six-tenths of second faster than his wife. Angelica Augustsson Zanotelli (SWE) and Danna RJ (Quiz Time x Candidus) who completed the podium in 40.35 seconds.
