Pohl Power! Nicola Pohl Powers Past Favorites to Win €51,300 Longines Grand Prix of Sharjah CSI 3*

Sharjah, The United Arab Emirates – February 06, 2022 – Nicola Pohl (GER) has found that the fountain of youth can be powerful and has experienced feeling of being a frequent winner lately, going up against some of the best in the world. It was no different on Sunday when the young German teamed up with Arlo de Blondel, claiming top honors in the €51,300 Longines Grand Prix CSI 3* on the final day of Sharjah International Show Jumping Championship CSI 3*.

A total of 35 combinations entered the main ring of the Sharjah Equestrian & Racing Club to face the 1.50m obstacles in the two-round challenge but only two combinations managed a clean scorecard at the end of it all. Pohl and the 12-year-old chestnut Selle Français gelding (Tlaloc M x Kassidi) were the faster of the two, securing the win in 36.83 seconds.

Kevin Jochems (NED) & Quatinka

Another young star claimed silver honors as Kevin Jochems (NED) and Quatinka (FRH Quaid x Perigueux) were right on the heels of the eventual winners, only losing by a fraction, timed at 37.50 second in round 2.

Shane Breen (IRL) & Vistogrand

Despite having a pole down in the first round, Shane Breen (IRL) and Vistogrand (Fantaland x Mr. Visto) bounced back with a penalty-free performance in 37.75 the second round for a final score of 4, a score and time that guaranteed them the third place on the podium.
