Hugo Tavares & Cicero 117 Triumphant in €25,400 Vilamoura Grand Prix CSI 2*

Vilamoura, Quarteira, Faro, Portugal – July 11, 2021 – Portugal prevailed as Hugo Tavares (POR) and Cicero 117 rode to victory in the Grand Prix CSI 2* last Sunday during the second week of the Vilamoura By Summer Series at the Vilamoura Equestrian Centre.

Riding the 2009 bay Oldenburg gelding (Berlin x Couleur Rubin), Tavares was supreme in the 1.45m jump-off challenge. The winning duo overcame four other combinations in the decisive phase backed by a penalty-free performance in 36.28 seconds.

Duarte Seabra (POR) and HHS Washington (Tinaranas Inspector x Cavalier Royale) dashed for the cash but had to settle for second despite a strong effort, registering no penalties and a final time of 28.03 seconds.

Ignacio Astolfi Lopez (ESP) and Dillan M (Zurich x Chin Chin) rounded out the top three despite having one rail down for four penalty-points in the tiebreaker, securing third place in 38.95 seconds.
