Peder Fredricson & Hansson WL Speed to First in €51,100 Speed Challenge CSI 5*

Doha, Qatar – February 26, 2021 – The second day of Commercial Bank CHI Al Shaqab, presented by Longines provided exhilarating equestrian action, as a star-studded contingent of riders and horses competed at the Longines Arena at Al Shaqab.

The eighth edition of the premier international event organized by Al Shaqab sees 85 riders from 27 countries participating in the Olympic disciplines of showjumping, dressage, and para dressage. Tomorrow will be the final day of the three-day event, which will conclude with the spectacular showjumping Grand Prix.

Peder Fredricson (SWE) & Hansson WL

Swedish Olympian Peder Fredricson (SWE), presently ranked 4th in the world in the Longines FEI Jumping Rankings, jumped to victory astride Hansson WL (Hip Hop x Iowa) in the speed class CSI 5*, beating the rest of the field with a time of 58.95 seconds.

Pénélope Leprevost (FRA) & Verite Une Prince

Pénélope Leprevost (FRA) and Verite Une Prince (Number One d’Iso*un Prince) finished second with 59.15 seconds.

Rene Lopez (COL) & Kheros van’T Hoogeinde

Rene Lopez (COL) and Kheros van’t Hoogeinde (Echo van ‘t Spieveld x Darco) came third in a time of 61.49 seconds.
