Christian Kukuk & Checker 47 Top €51,950 Oliva Nova Beach & Golf Resort Grand Prix CSI 3*

Oliva Nova, Valencia, Spain – January 24, 2021 – The second week of the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour came to an end on Sunday and it was Christian Kukuk (GER) and Checker 47 who claimed top honors in the feature class of the week, the €51,950 Oliva Nova Beach & Golf Resort Grand Prix CSI 3*.

A total of four combinations advanced to the jump-off but it was the German and the 2010 grey Westphalian gelding (Comme Il Faut 5 x Come On) who came out on top after a penalty-free effort in 36.60 seconds.

The degree of difficulty in the 1.50m contest was certified by not only the low number of clear performances in the first round but also by the fact that the current number-one ranked rider in the world finished in the runner-up position. Steve Guerdat (SUI) came close aboard Jonka-A (Cardento 933 x ), earning silver honors only due to their final time of 37.59 seconds.

After winning the €25,700 Jump-off Challenge CSI 2* last week, Janne Friederike Meyer-Zimmermann (GER) had another solid performance aboard Chesmu KJ (Cornet Obolensky x Calido I), registering no penalties while tripping the jump-off timers in 38.81 seconds.
