
Quarteira, Faro, Portugal – November 17, 2020 – FEI Nations Cup action made its return to the sport today during the seventh week of the Vilamoura Champions Tour during at the Vilamoura Equestrian Centre in Portugal. A total of 12 teams from different nations lined up for the contest with the German team led by Chef d’Equipe Heinrich Engeman (GER) claiming top honors.

Richard Vogel (GER) with Floyo VDL (Baltic VDL x Contender) were the stars of the day for the winning team, registering a double clear.

Guido Klatte Junior (GER) and Qinghai (Quidam de Revel x Cordalme) improved from their score of four penalty-points in the first, going clear in their second performance.

Jens Baackmann (GER) with Aglaia J (Arpeggio x Lancino de L) had one pole down for in each of their two performances, registering a combined score of 8 penalty-points.

David Will (GER) with C Vier 2 (Cardento 933 x Concorde) had a nightmare of a performance in the first round, knocking 6 poles down for 24 penalty-points, being the discard score. But he was a man on a mission in the second round, redeeming themselves with a flawless run.
As a result, the German team’s combined score of 8 penalty-points led them to first place while France was second with 13 penalty-points. Ireland, Great Britain and Italy shared third place, all having a total score of 16 penalty-points.
