Oliva Nova, Spain – November 05, 2020 – It was a battle between two two of the powerhouse nations of showjumping that called the attention of spectators yesterday during the second week of the Mediterranean Equestrian Tour‘s Autumn Tour.
The feature class of the day was the Rent A Car Dénia Trophy CSI 2*, serving as the qualifier for Grand Prix on Sunday and David Will (GER) and Harold Boisset (FRA) made it very exciting. Frequent Grand Prix winners at the venue, the two riders placed both of their combinations within the top six.
In the end, David Will (GER) came out on top, riding Forest Gump 29 to victory in the 1.45 speed challenge. The German crossed the finish line in 63.68 seconds aboard the 2006 bay Oldenburg gelding (Forsyth x Feuerwerk) to claim the lion’s share of the €10,000 purse. Moreover, the German also finished in sixth place, this time on Confetti M (Connor 48 x Alcatraz), timed in 66.61 seconds.
Harold Boisset’s (FRA) performances were not diminished by the German’s victory because the Frenchman earned the next two highest places on the podium. He rode T’Obetty du Domaine (Kashmir Van Schuttershof x Diams du Grasset) towards second place in 64.14 seconds and Divine de La Roque (For Hero x Kannan) in 65.66 seconds.
