Pius Schwizer & Balou Rubin R Race to Win €25,650 Two-Phase Challenge CSI 3* at Vilamoura

Quarteira, Faro, Portugal – November 05, 2020 – Pius Schwizer (SUI) and Balou Rubin R were at their best to win the Section B of the €25,650 Two-Phase Challenge CSI 3* yesterday during the fifth week of the 2020 Vilamoura Champions Tour at the Vilamoura Equestrian Centre.

Since the class with aggregated penalties featured130 combinations, it had to be split into two sections, following the California split format. The Swiss guided the 13-year-old dark bay Oldenburg gelding (Balou du Rouet x Couleur-Rubin) flawlessly through both parts of the 1.45m challenge, securing first place in 30.68 seconds.

Jack Ryan (IRL) and Essenar High Hopes (Phin-Phin x Indoctro) were not too far behind, claiming second place with a final time only four-tenths of a second slower than the eventual winners.

Clement Boulanger (FRA) and Vaya de Lacke (Spotlight Z (de) (Hann) x Alligator Fontaine) were also clear all the way to the final timers, going through the finish line in 31.41 seconds.
