Martin Fuchs is the Fastest at the Hubside Jumping CSI 4*

Grimaud, France – October 17, 2020 – Martin Fuchs (SUI) closed out the penultimate day of the 2020 Hubside Jumping with a victory in the Hubside Speed Challenge CSI 4* on Saturday during the final week of the Hubside Jumping Fall Tour.

The number-two ranked rider in the world and the 13-year-old chestnut Selle Français gelding (Ogrion des Champs x Quidam de Revel) registered the faster of only two clean performances in the contest with obstacles set at the maximum height of 1.50 meters. The duo crossed the finish line in 67.21 seconds claim the lion’s share of the €15,000 jackpot.

Thierry Rozier (FRA) came close to having a fairytale retirement weekend, finishing after a time of 69.41 seconds aboard Wouest de Cantraie Z (Winningmood Vd Arenberg x Calvin).

The third spot on the podium was claimed by the faster of two combinations that had a time-penalty in the first round. Marc Houtzager (NED) and Habitat BP (Dantos x l’Espri) earned bronze honors, timed in 77.06 seconds.

Winner’s Circle – Martin Fuchs (SUI)

It’s a very pleasant victory (smile). Tam Tam du Valon has been present at the Hubside Jumping for several weeks now, posting some fine clear runs, but never being the fastest. So today, on this stimulating course, with few clears, in a tempo that I thought I could beat him, I knew that I had a chance with Tam Tam. He has many qualities, and I knew they could be exploited in this class: he has experience in events bigger than this, having already taken part in rounds at 155cm. I imagined that this would not be too complicated a race for him, especially as he is very fast and super respectful. He always tries to give the best of himself and that’s what he did tonight.
