Jessica Springsteen & Tiger Lily “Show their Claws” in the €25,400 Hubside Grand Prix CSI 2*

Grimaud, France – September 27, 2020 – Jessica Springsteen (USA) and Tiger Lily had a stellar jump-off round to win the €25,400 Hubside Grand Prix CSI 2* during the third week of the Hubside Jumping Fall Tour.

The American and the 13-year-old chestnut Oldenburg mare (Balou du Rouet x Domino) registered the fastest time among seven combinations, securing the victory in 37.18 seconds.

The host nation claimed silver honors as Julien Gonin (FRA) and Cymba (Radieux x Adelfos) completed their second outing flawlessly, going through the timers just fifteeen-hundredths of a second behind the winning pair.

The next highest-placed combination was also from France, with Olivier Perreau (FRA) and Chrysolite Fonroy (Scareface de Mars x Clown du Chesnay) finishing third after a double clear, stopping the timers in 38.64 during the tiebreaker.

Winner’s Circle: Jessica Springsteen (USA)

I am very happy with this victory. I’ve been riding Tiger Lily for many years, five in fact, since she was eight. So we can say that we now know each other very well and that the relationship between us works wonderfully. I love the speed with her, and I think she likes it just as much. The jump-off of this Grand Prix was really very nice, it suited us perfectly, I think. We managed to take out a stride between obstacle number 1 and number 2, which immediately gave us a good rhythm. She is a very respectful mare, a real fighter.

I have been participating in Hubside Jumping for many weeks now and I must admit that it is an exceptional chance to have this competition in these strange times. Every time I come, I’m super excited because I know that I’ll find great facilities, a fantastic track and that my horses will have a great welcome. There are a few races left in the US but I have to say that we are very lucky to have Hubside Jumping in Europe.
