Mariano Bastida & Quicksilver Claim Gold at the Sunshine Tour CSI 3*

Vejer de la Frontera, Spain – September 19, 2020 – Spanish rider Mariano Martínez Bastida (ESP) was once again top of the podium in the Big Tour 1.40m class which had over 50 entries.  The class was held on grass in the David Broome arena and 15 combinations went through to the jump off. 

Riding the very talented and fast grey, Quicksilver (Quick Star x Trentino GL), he repeated his win from last Sunday, registering a penalty-free effort in 33.37 seconds.

The talented American rider Laura Kraut (USA), who has had a host of placings over the last two weeks, including the win in the €54,200 Grand Prix CSI 3* last week.This time she was riding the gelding Constable II (Harley x Lupicor), with whom she was also second in the 1.45m Big class yesterday. The duo were also double clear, going through the final timers in 34 seconds flat.

There was a tie for third place when first to go and the leader for much of the jump-off, Spanish rider Eduardo Álvarez Aznar (ESP) aboard Fidux (Malito de Reve x Voltaire),  ended up on exactly the same time as the British rider Matthew Sampson (GBR) on Cristo Beech (Its the Business x Cantero), both stopping the timers at 34.53 seconds.
