Falsterbo, Sweden – May 07, 2020 – The organizing committee of the Falsterbo International Horse Show CSIO 5* has issued a statement announcing the cancellation of the 100th anniversary edition of Sweden’s most traditional horse show, an event that also hosts the prestigious Longines FEI Jumping Nations Cup of Sweden CSIO 5*.
Their announcement states the following:
If we are going to run Falsterbo Horse Show 2020, we will do it fully. We have said that since the Corona crisis started. It has not been relevant to go on without crowds.
We know that the Falsterbo Horse Show is the highlight of the year for a great many people, such as our audience, our officials, competitors, exhibitors, partners and the whole region. We therefore chose to keep the hope up for as long as possible, but now the time has come for us and it is with great sadness that we are forced to cancel the 2020 Falsterbo Horse Show 4-12 July.
Like all other events that need to be set, we have the health of all people involved as the priority. Therefore, the 100th anniversary will be postponed to July 10-18, 2021 instead.
This year’s edition of the Falsterbo Horse Show looked to be the best Falsterbo Horse Show in many ways. Our imminent 100th anniversary, 25% over in the sale of tickets and record interest from exhibitors and sponsors, made the conditions look very promising until March when Covid-19 crept in closer.
Of course, a set event will affect us and we believe many of our visitors choose to keep their tickets until 2021. Ticket buyers will receive an email from Ticketmaster shortly with information.
One year goes by fast and we look forward to welcoming you all to the Falsterbo Horse Show July 10-18, 2021.
