Lausanne, Switzerland – April 06, 2020 – Pedro Veniss (BRA) has been announced as the new FEI Athlete Representative before the FEI Jumping Committee.
Cian O’Connor (IRL), who had been originally elected for a four-year term back in 2018, resigned about 12 months later. As a result of his resignation, Maria Gretzer served as the interim representative before the FEI Jumping Committee and FEI Jumping Athlete Committee.
Pedro Veniss made the following statement to the FEI:
“I agreed to take the Athlete Representative role because of my passion for horses and for the sport. The possibility of me taking the role came up last year in an International Jumping Riders Club (IJRC) meeting in Barcelona.
“I believe the role is important as it serves as a way of bringing riders’ ideas and thoughts to FEI leadership. In this position I hope to contribute to the sport by working closely with riders and the Jumping community.”
