Montemedio, Vejer de La Frontera, Spain – Thursday, February 13, 2020 – Good atmosphere on the terraces of Montenmedio thanks to the sun and the pleasant temperature provided the perfect setting for the big test of the day, the €26,150 Geolastic Trophy CSI 2*, the first major class during the first week of the Sunshine Tour.
The class started at 14:30h with more than 70 combinations testing their horses on a track that did not presented great obstacles for the the participants.
Out of the 33 clear rounds, it was French rider Roger Yves Bost (FRA) and his Vino d’Espinet who claimed top honors. The Frenchman and the 11-year-old Selle Français gelding (Elan de la Cour x le Tot de Semilly) edged out fellow compatriot Pierre Alain Mortier (FRA) and Just Do It R, a Spanish Sport Horse (Action Breaker x Baloubet du Rouet) for the blue ribbon. Bosty’s time was 60.07 seconds compared to Monsieur Mortier’s 61.17 seconds.
Eric Van der Vleuten (NED) and Djoost Again (Cantos x Joost) registered the third fastest clear performance of the 1.45m challenge, earning bronze honors in 61.34 seconds.

“I am happy to have won, I have not been coming for years and I love this place. The test today was very big but people went fast. I came out to win it from the beginning and I am very happy, ”said the winner of the team gold at the Olympic Games in Rio de Janeiro.
