Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – January 17, 2020 – João Marquilhas (POR) and Glamour ES won the €25,700 Abu Dhabi Sports Council Grand Prix Qualifier CSI 3* yesterday during the second week of the Al Shira’aa International Horse Show.

The Portuguese rider and the 9-year-old chestnut Dutch Warmblood gelding (Echo Vant Spieveld x Calvados) claimed top honors in the 1.45m jump-off challenge, registering no penalties in 38.63 seconds at the end of their second performance.

The Whitaker family once again honored their traditional name in the sport with Michael Whitaker (GBR) and Flinstering (Tangelo van de Zuuthoeve x Ekstein) finishing second, just two tenths of a second slower than the eventual winners.

Jack Whitaker (GBR) and Scelentha (Scendix x Contendra I) finished third, backed by a clean scoresheet and a final time of 38.98 seconds.
