João Victor Castro (BRA) has been simply phenomenal throughout the Vilamoura Champions Tour CSI 3* and CSI 2* competitions the past two weeks and that proved to be the case once again yesterday.
The rising star was a winner again, this time topping Thursday’s €24,900 two-phase class CSI 2* aboard Bibenbreaker. The Brazilian and the 12-year-old Dutch Warmblood stallion (Heartbreker x Hattrick) cleared all the 1.45m obstacles on both sections of the course, completing the final part in 32.97 seconds for the victory.
Moreover, João Victor also managed another top placing, finishing in seventh place aboard his other mount, Crispo (Contendro I x Corofino 2).
Greg Patrick Broderick (IRL) and Westbrook (Jaguar Mail x Cardento) also had no penalties attributed to them, stopping the final timers in 33.34 seconds.
James Smith (GBR) and Twix de La Roque (Kannan x Cumano) were right in the Irishman’s heels, completing the course just nine-hundredths of a second slower than the latter two.
