Championship Dreams on the Line as Ben Maher Leads Standings Heading into Longines Global Champions Tour of Rome CSI 5*

The window of the 2018 Longines Global Champions Tour (LGCT) is being closed as the championship series makes it curtain-call stops in Rome this week and Doha later on.

The chase for the title has separated pretenders from contender and Ben Maher (GBR) is still sitting on top of the overall LGCT championship ranking with a total of 270 points.

World number one and defending champion, Harrie Smolders (NED) is the closest one, a bit further back with 234 points. Alberto Zorzi (ITA) is hot on the Dutchman’s heels, just one point behind.

Daniel Deusser (GER) is still in contetion in fourth place after having registered 225 points so far. Nicola Philippaerts (BEL) rounds out the top five with 219 points.

There’s much at stake this weekend, with the possibility of the LGCT Champion of Champions being crowned this weekend during the Longines Global Champions Tour of Rome CSI 5*. Stay tuned and enjoy the battle amongst the gladiators of our sport!
