Axel Vandoorne & Gaudi de Hus Gallop to First at the Andalucía Sunshine Tour CSI 4*

Vejer de La Frontera, Spain – February 13, 2026 – Another intense day unfolded at Dehesa Montenmedio, featuring a broad and highly competitive schedule that once again confirmed the international character of the circuit. Among all the classes, the highlight was the €28,700 Ayuntamiento Vejer Trophy CSI 4*, the Big Tour 1.50m class counting toward the Longines FEI Ranking, whose victory headed to Belgium.

The feature class of the day, held in Arena 5 (Milton), brought together more than 90 horse-and-rider combinations. Of these, 33 completed the course without penalties, with the fastest being Belgium’s Axel Vandoorne (BEL), who claimed victory with Gaudi de Hus, a son of Toulon out of a Diamant de Semilly mare. Vandorne and the 10-year-old bay Selle Français gelding overcame all the 1.50m obstacles before galloping across the finish line in 65.09 seconds. Belgium thus secured a major win on a day marked by tight competition and speed.

Alix Ragot (FRA) raced towards silver honors on QH Sole Mio Santo Antonio, doing so in 65.63 seconds.

A true test of fierce competition, three different nations claimed the top three spots on the pdoium, rounding out the top three in 66.40 seconds.

The best Spanish performance in this class came from Pilar Cordón. The rider from Aragón, very consistent throughout the day, finished ninth with Pica Pica Z, confirming her strong current form.
