Daniel Dares & Daydream Makes the Dream Come True in the $32,000 Vogel Grand Prix CSI 2*

Mill Spring, United States โ€“ October 17, 2025 โ€“ The biggest week of the Tryon Fall Series, presented by Coca-Cola commenced in the Blue Ridge Foothills, bringing CSI 2* and 5* competition, along with the thrills of Major League Show Jumping action.

Two-for-two with CSI 2* wins, Daniel Coyle (IRL) once again found the top of the podium in Tryon Stadium, taking first in Fridayโ€™s $32,000 Vogel Grand Prix CSI 2* with Ariel Grangeโ€™s Daydream (Phin Phin x Voltaire). Coyle and Daydream crossed the jump off timers at 38.01 seconds for a double clear effort.

Daniel Coyleโ€™s winning mount Daydream is a new teammate, but already proving her worth. โ€œAriel Grange bought her last year, and we had really high hopes for her,โ€ Coyle said of the 2016 Hungarian Sport Horse mare. โ€œThis is her third Grand Prix win this year โ€“ she also won a 3* [at the European Championship].โ€

โ€œSheโ€™s an amazing horse,โ€ Coyle said of Daydream. โ€œSheโ€™s just starting her career, and sheโ€™s already winning at the top level. She still has so much to learn, and I canโ€™t wait for that to happen!โ€

Tony Stormanns (GER) & Cassius Clay

Seventeen-year-old Tony Stormanns (GER) teamed up with Cassius Clay (Comme Il Faut x Albatros), the 2015 Hanoverian gelding owned by HS Sportpferde, to take second place, just behind Coyle in 38.41 seconds.

Olivia Sweetnam (USA)& Epic

Also a talented young force, Olivia Sweetnam (USA) claimed third aboard Epic (Billy Mexico x Flyinge Electro), the 2015 Anglo European gelding owned by Sweet Oak Farm and Monica Preston, marking a 40.41 second jump off.

Coyle revealed that Daydreamโ€™s athleticism allowed him to leave strides out in several parts of the Peter Grant (CAN)-designed course. โ€œShe has a really big stride, and she has lots of scope. Itโ€™s a big advantage, especially in a class like this.โ€

Heather Oswald was presented the Groomโ€™s Award presented by Regal Downs for her care and dedication to Daydream alongside Tryon International’s Drew Page.

With teenage competitors Tony Stormanns and Olivia Sweetnam on the heels of Coyle and Daydream, Coyle put his veteranโ€™s experience to good use on the short track. Riding one less stride in the courseโ€™s center line, he was able to make up the extra time to reach the top of the leaderboard. โ€œI think if [Tony and Olivia] jumped it again, they would leave that stride out as well. Itโ€™s the first time in my life I feel a little old!โ€ Coyle quipped.

As Coyle looks to add another win to his week, his team is taking full advantage of all that Tryon International offers. โ€œI like that everything here is on site, and that I can do the 2*, 5*, and also the young horse classes,โ€ he shared. โ€œYou get to do it all here!โ€
