
Shanghai, China โ May 04, 2025 โ After a stellar season competing in Florida, highlighted by several wins and top placings, Nicola Philippaerts (BEL) and Derby de Riverland were back in the winner’s circle on Sunday during the final day of the 2025 Longines Global Champions Tour of Shanghai CSI 5* at the Juss International Equestrian Centre.

Philippaerts and the 12-year-old bay Selle Franรงais gelding (Kannan x L’Arc de Triomphe) powered past the competition in the 1.50m speed challenge, blazing across the finish line in 69.57 seconds.
The winning duo’s speed proved to be too much for the rest of the competiton. Marlonย Modolo Zanotelliย (BRA) and Scala du Piedroux Z gave the eventual winner’s a run for their money but their time of 70.79 seconds came at the expense of one pole down, leaving them out of the top three.

Max Kuhner (AUT) and EIC Up Too Jacco Blue were not as fast as the brazilian but they did manage to keep all the poles up, thus earning silver honors despite being over four seconds slower than the mark by the Philippaerts.

Marcus Ehning (GER) and DPS Revere rounded out the top three with no penalties, crossing the timers in 74.18 seconds.
