Doha, Qatar – February 13, 2025 – The 2025 H.H. The Amir’s Sword International Equestrian Festival CSI 5* & CSI 3*-W began last Thursday at the stunning Al Shaqab in the Qatari capital.

The feature class of the day was the Speed Challenge CSI 5* won by the Spaniard Mariano Martinez Bastida (ESP) on his bay gelding Origi Van’T Geyzeven. The dynamic duo dashed around the course while still clearing all the poles, claim top honours with a flawless and swift round in 65.17 seconds and the lion’s share of €7,750 euros.

Second place was bagged by Austrian Gerfried Puck (AUT), riding the bay gelding Equitron Ornaat V across the finish line in 66.48 seconds.

Frenchman Antonie Ermann (FRA) and Floyd des Pres flew around the track in flawless fashion too, rounding out the top three in 70.23 seconds.

2) Gerfried Puck (AUT) & Equitron Ornaat V – 0 – 66.48
