Leipzig, Germany โ January 18, 2025 โ The Kings of Championats! After defending their title in the Championat of Basel last week, Yuri Mansur (BRA) and Vitiki made it back-to-back, this time stealing the spotlight in the feature class on Saturday at Partner Pferd – Leipzig CSI 5*-W, topping the โฌ90,000 Championat of Leipzig CSI 5*-W.
Just like last week, a huge jackpot was on the line, therefore attracting some of the best riders in the world and the Brazilian rider relied on his “Wolverine”. The 17-year-old chestnut Hanoverian gelding (Valentino x For Expo) had a miraculous recovery after an accident with Yuri at the helm in Aachen, then coming back even better to achieve the biggest wins of their partnership together. This time, Mansur and his “Wolverine” were supreme in the jump-off against 10 other combinations, prevailing in 39.14 seconds.
The feat was enhanced by the fact that the duo beat Willem Greve (NED) and Grandorado TN N.O.P., winners of the Major of the Rolex Grand Slam of Showjumping at s’Hertogenbosch. This time the Dutchman had to settle for second due to their jump-off performance in 40.38 seconds.
Many might have considered him an underdog against much more experienced riders but Giacomo Casadei (ITA) did not disappoint, earning third place after two flawless rounds and their final time of 44.62 seconds.
