Leipzig, Germany – January 17, 2025 – Swiss supremacy! Steve Guerdat (SUI) stole the spotlight on Friday at the Partner – Pferd CSI 5*-W. The highlight of the day was the €105,500 Defender Cup CSI 5*-W. One of the winningest and most experienced riders in the world, Guerdat as cool as a cucumber aboard the 11-year-old dark bay Hanoverian gelding Looping Luna in the 1.55m speed challenge, speeding towards victory across the finish line in 54.10 seconds.
The host nation managed to come second as Hannes Ahlmann (GER) and Tokyo 4 (Toulon x San Patrignano Cassini) cleared all the obstacles too, securing their spot amongst the top three in 55.23 seconds.
Philipp Schulze Topphoff (GER) gave Germany two of the top three as he guided Carla NRW (Comme Il Faut Potsdam NRW) towards a fault-free round in 55.71 seconds.
