Martin & Totale de Res Nova Show their Will to Win the $32,000 YETI Grand Prix Qualifier CSI 2*

Ocala, Florida, USA – January 17, 2025 – The $32,000 YETI Grand Prix Qualifier CSI 2* was the highlight event of the morning during Week III of the 2025 Winter Spectacular Show Series. Nineteen-year-old Will Martin (CAN) demonstrated skill beyond his years, piloting Totale De Res Nova (Comme II Faut x Verdi) to a time early in the jump-off order that proved unbeatable.

Anderson Lima’s expertly designed course saw 15 combinations advance to the jump-off, but only eight managed double-clear rounds.

Will Simpson (USA) and Whoop De Doo were the first to return for the jump-off, delivering a quick time of 33.63 seconds but with an unfortunate four faults.

Next in, Martin and Lesley Martin’s Totale de Res Nova laid down a blazing round in 32.40 seconds that no one could catch.

“I knew there was a lot of competition behind me, so going early in the order, I wanted to risk it,” Martin shared. “This was the first true test for that horse, and he really answered everything perfectly. I just kept on the gas the whole time and knew everything would show up if I kept going. The only question for me was five or six out of the double, but I caught it straight, and the five showed up for me.”

Laura Kraut (USA) & Lady D

Laura Kraut (USA) followed close behind with Cherry Knoll Farm, Inc.’s nine-year-old KWPN mare, Lady D (Eldorado Vd Zeshoek x Indoctro), finishing in 33.77 seconds after their victory in yesterday’s $32,000 1.40m Speed CSI 2*.

Marie Hecart (FRA) & Vahinee

Marie Hecart (FRA) and Vahinee (Lauterbach x Darco), a 16-year-old Selle Francais mare owned by Normandie Connection LTD, rounded out the top three with a clear and quick round in 33.98 seconds.

Reflecting on the 10-year-old Belgian Warmblood gelding, Martin said, “He’s a new horse to me. I got him last year in June, and we’ve been slowly building up. This is actually our first FEI week together.”

He also praised the venue, adding, “It’s an amazing place. I don’t live here, but it’s one of my favorite horse shows to come to. It’s the best facilities, the best people, and the important part is the horses enjoy it the most.”
