Basel, Switzerland – January 11, 2025 – Julien Gonin (FRA) put France on top of the podium on Saturday at the 2025 Longines CHI Classics – Basel CSI 5*-W. Riding Estrella de La Batia, the Frenchman was supreme in the €60,000 Gerüstbau Nordwest Prize CSI 5*-W.

The 11-year-old bay Selle Français mare (Diamant de Semilly x Lando) propelled the Frenchman to victory in the speed challenge, overcoming 36 other combinations by clearing all the 1.50m obstacles in flawless fashion before crossing the timers in 55.70 seconds.

Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida (POR) and Solidat were consistent again, posting another clean performance in 56 seconds flat for silver honors.

Winners of the €33,900 Thermoplan Prize CSI 5*-W two days before, Marlon Modolo Zanotelli (BRA) and Talina du Vivier Z had another top three finish, earning third place in 56.64 seconds.
