Basel, Switzerland, – January 09, 2025 – Martin Fuchs (SUI) got off to a flying start on home soil on the opening day of the Longines CHI Classics – Basel CSI 5*-W, claiming top honors in the €60,000 Le Trois Rois Prize CSI 5*-W. For a moment, it seemed that the victory would go to Germany but Fuchs and L&L Upgrade, the 12-year-old bay Westphalian gelding (Ultimo x Baloubet du Rouet) had other plans, taking off almost nine-tenths off the leading time that had been set by Hans-Dieter Dreher (GER).

Coming off two World Cup victories, the last one the €250,000 Longines FEI Jumping World Cup™ presented by BMW to close out the year in grand fashion, Hansi(GER) and Vestmalle des Cotis (Baloubet du Rouet x Landor S) were back on the podium again, this time having to settle for second place due to their time of 56.38 seconds.
Roger-Yves Bost (FRA) and Ballerine du Vilpion rounded out the top three backed by a penalty-free performance in 57.27 seconds.
